CLIENTS EXPERIENCES
Ivran Romero (Pitcher), University of San Diego 2024:
"Thanks to Andrew Semo and his transformative lessons from Hippensteel, my arm health and velocity skyrocketed to new heights. Previously plagued by endless shoulder pain and bicep tendinitis while sitting at 88-90, I now effortlessly hit 91-93, enabling me to compete at my highest level. No more relying on ridiculous tools or insane max-out workouts - instead, I've gained valuable insights into my body and optimal positions. This approach has taught me more than any lift or tool ever could. Plus, the process is not just about physical improvement; it's a great time for visualization and meditation. Grateful for the game-changing impact on my performance and overall well-being!"
Cory Wall (Pitcher), Atlanta Braves:
"Throughout the majority of my early college career I was plagued with arm and back injuries. It seemed like something that would never end. During my last injury Andy introduced me to the Hippensteel method which I fully bought into and did religiously. Since 2021 I have not been injured and I still do the Hippensteel stretches every day as I believe they are a major reason why I am so mobile, flexible and healthy. Whenever someone asks for advice about an ache or pain I always refer them to the stretches Andy showed me years ago."
Active Duty Military Member (Airforce):
"I was told by a doctor that I needed surgery to fix a torn meniscus. Before doing that I tried out Andrew's/Hippensteel's stretching methods and was able to return to full function within 2 months. I have since enlisted in the military and have completed several of the most physically challenging courses in the DOD without surgery. I would not be where I am today without Andrew and Joe's help."
Gabe Darcy (OF), USD:
"Semo has saved my career. I’ve hurt my back 3 times and semo has been the only person to get me healthy. His methods are unmatched. Semo also has a way of seeing talent and getting through to players."
Mason McGwire (Pitcher), Chicago Cubs:
"Andrew really helped me prevent many injuries and also increase my range of motion by helping me open up my body with trigger points and stretching."
Declan Lavelle (Pitcher), Fordham:
"After my Tommy John surgery I started to use the Hippensteel finger stretches that Semo showed me to really loosen up my forearm and elbow and that had a significant positive impact on my rehab process. I also started to use the full stretching regimen to help my movements and mobility on the mound. Mainly the sit cross lean stretch helped open up my hips, hamstrings and back and that helped me feel health, loose and fully mobile. The Hippensteel method has helped my performance on the field and my recovery off the field."
Jack Harnisch (INF), Fordham/Santa Clara:
"The UHP methods completely changed my ability to take care of my body. Doing the stretches daily and achieving the different ranges allowed me to eliminate soreness and tightness from many areas, while also avoiding injury. It is magic, and I highly recommend it to not only athletes, but everyone, to combat inflammation in the body."
Richard Grund (Catcher), Fordham:
"Before attending Fordham I had a history of injuries. Semo found ways to take time out of his busy student-athlete schedule to assist me and many others with the Hippensteel process. I truly believe, with Semo’s help, this routine helped prevent future injuries as well as aided in the correction of prior injuries. The college baseball season is year-round. Without Semo’s guidance I would not have been able to stay healthy for all 4 years."
Max McGwire (1B/P), USD:
"Andrew Semo has greatly improved my performance and recovery just by stretching! Yes stretching. His methods of stretching bring a new level to your body. Especially being a rotational athlete. His lower back stretches are key to staying loose and healthy every day. After 1 session with Andrew my body felt brand new and now I stretch at least once a day to stay on top of my game. I have done PT, Acupuncture/Dry Needling, cupping/scraping, stem/compression… that stuff is fine and all, but Andrew’s methods WORK, and work instantly."
Angelo Peraza (OF), USD:
"Andrew Semo was an immense help in my recovery process from an SI strain. With about three weeks left until the beginning of my season, my strain stalled in its recovery process. At this point, I turned towards Andrew Semo for help. With the introduction towards the Hippensteel method, Andrew Semo guided me through these various stretches and checkpoints. In addition to these stretches, Semo used manual trigger points in my low back that instantly provided relief. At the beginning of this method, I felt an immediate improvement in the mobility and range of my lower back. Before I knew it, I gained full range of motion, and my pain subdued. I was back to playing in a couple of weeks. With the continuation of the stretches and Hippensteel method, I have never felt better on the field, and I cannot thank Andrew Semo enough for his help."
James Springer (Pitcher), Fordham:
"As a former pitcher at Fordham University, I faced a significant setback when I tore my UCL just two days before the start of my freshman season. Dr. Christopher Ahmad performed the UCL replacement surgery, commonly known as Tommy John Surgery, in early March of 2020. However, the onset of the pandemic shortly after surgery disrupted my rehabilitation schedule, leaving me feeling there was more I could do to recover effectively. Fortunately, I found invaluable support and guidance from my teammate, Andrew Semo, who had experienced a similar injury with a notably different outcome. Andrew's insights and tools proved instrumental in my rehabilitation process, offering solutions that complemented Dr. Ahmad's surgical intervention. Andrew's wealth of experience at the Division I level, coupled with his unwavering work ethic, made him a role model for me. Together, we worked tirelessly to address the challenges I faced during my recovery. Through targeted stretching and strengthening exercises, I not only alleviated discomfort in my elbow but also experienced enhanced performance on the mound. Our collaboration extended beyond addressing immediate concerns to encompass preventing future injuries and optimizing overall physical condition. Andrew's expertise in techniques acquired from his mentor fostered a culture of wellness and resilience among our teammates. As a result, we observed fewer injuries and notable improvements in on-field performance. I owe a considerable debt of gratitude to Andrew for his unwavering support and guidance throughout my journey. His mentorship played a pivotal role in my successful return to the game, and I credit him for much of my achievements on the field."
Chase Nelson (Pitcher), Chipola:
"When I got out to Kokomo Indiana this summer, I had extreme chronic pain in my elbow. Was sore to even pick things up. I couldn’t think of throwing a ball. Well that’s when I met Semo. We got to talking about his past and his arm, and he let me in on how he fixed it. So we got right to work the next day. Not only did Semo stretch me out every day for almost 2 weeks. He completely made my pain go away. I went from 88-90 to 92-94 in my last outing. With that being said Semo completely changed the health in my arm. Currently I have not had one single problem with my arm since he showed me the exercises and stretches to do. This has made me a better pitcher and made me realize how to really take care of my arm. I would not be where I am right now with out Semo."
Evan Elliot, (Pitcher), Toronto Blue Jays
"This summer ball season was crucial for my chances of hearing my name get called in the 2021 MLB draft. It wasn’t long into the season that my arm was starting to feel the affects of the throwing load as I had been out of pitching that’s past year due to covid canceling our college season. Andrew Semo became that guy that every pitcher on our team turned to for rehab advice. nearing the end of the season my arm was feeling stiff and sore but it was important I got out there for MLB scouts. Semo gave me a stretching routine and even did manual work for me in the bullpen that helped me bounce back from those issue and honestly starting feeling great again. It was like magic. I was lucky enough to hear my name called by the Texas rangers in the 15th round of the 2021 MLB Draft. And Semo played a huge role in helping me stay health and get out on the bump a few more time to prove myself to scouts."
Tommy Peltier (Pitcher), Canisius
"When I first got out to summer ball this year I had some chronic elbow tightness and discomfort after a long school season. Semo was able to help me not only work through it but eliminate it entirely, I noticed a difference right away as my average velo spiked by around 2 mph. And was able to bounce back was more effectively between outings then before."
Justus Burke (INF), Allen Community College (KS), Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, GCU
"Before I was introduced to the Hippensteel program Semo showed me, I suffered severe hip and back tightness which ultimately made my baseball approach suffer. Whether it was uncomfortable during my sleep or inability to rotate my joints properly, this program cleared all of my issues. I firmly believe in buying into every program given to me, so I sold myself into it all summer. This summer was the most loose I have played in years, allowing me to unlock areas of my game I haven’t experienced since high school. I firmly believe if you sit down with Semo and hear what he has to explain, this idea could change the way mobility is viewed in sports."
Tuck Waddup, Head coach for Gln Oaks Vikings (JUCO):
"This summer Semo helped me get my back feeling much better through his stretching routine. Through doing his exercises, I was able to wake up pain-free in my lower back after having back pain for as long as I can remember. Semo also helped our entire pitching staff get healthy and stay healthy this summer with the Jackrabbits. We had several guys with aches and pains and just a few days in I saw Semo with our guys doing stretches and exercises. After having worked with Semo for just a short time, all of our guys said they felt tremendously better and pain-free. These are exercises that I am now putting in with my pitching staff back at school. Found it very beneficial."
